A great idea for Christmas crafts for children is to make Christmas windows.  This looks awesome on a window that passers by can see.

Children love to get involved with this and depending on their age, could do a whole window by themselves.  Or, if younger they can help out with a family window.

There are different possibilities for how you can decorate a window.  These are a couple of simple options.

You can cut out pieces of different coloured cellophane and make them into a pattern.  They can be taped onto your window and in the evening, when it gets dark, have a light or candle behind the patterned cellophane.  From the outside you see the beautiful pattern standing out.

Have a look through some Christmas advertising circulars, books or magazines to get some ideas on different patterns that you could create.  Get your children involved and see if they can imagine how to make it big enough for your window.

A second Christmas crafts for children idea is to decorate a window is by using a mobile.  Get a piece of bamboo and hang decorations on silver, gold or coloured thread or string from the bamboo.  The decorations can be two or three dimensional.  They can be simple as card cut out in Christmas shapes and sprayed with gold, silver, red or green paint.

Let your child create and you will be amazed at what they come up with.  The same idea can be used to decorate their room if hung from the centre of the room, or another appropriate place.
