well here are some ideas :

Homade snow globe
1. Take a jar (with a lid) and put sparkles in it. If you want to, glue and action figure with a GLUE GUN to the LID. Then once it is dry. fill the jar with water. You could add food coloring if you would like. Then put the lid back on the jar. Yes i know it will be upside down but you would then FLIP the jar over. Now you have a pretty decrative snow globe :D

2. Necklaces, bracelets

Well you will need good looking beads for it to look more formal and mature. But if you have smaller children 7 and lower, any beads with do. You could also make string bracelets and necklaces. They are very cute, all you have to do is braid them. Heres what they look like

3. You could make pillows or blankets :D They are pretty easy and most people have some extra fabric lying around. I assume you know how to sew but if you don't, google it :)

4. You could make a book filled with memories of you and that person together. Thats a really cute idea and you coul decorate it with lace and ribbon too :)

Happy Holidays and God Bless!
References :
A box with a mosaic tile top. My sister made one last year. They look relatively expensive and with the tiles, she made a snowman design. its super cute. not extremely easy but its worth the time for the end result.
References :
Christmas '08 Gifts.
