take a pine cone and glue an acorn from an oak tree on the top. It's best if you use the ones that still have the little shell on top. This becomes the halo for the angel. Paint the whole thing white then paint a face on the acorn and glue on some wings that have been cut out of decorative paper. If you want you can also paint them silver or gold and put a cord on them to hang on the tree
References :
Get those big popsicle sticks. Arrange them. Glue on a picture. Put on a string to hold it, or a magnet to the back. It doesn't have to be an ornament, just a gift they make to give loved ones.
References :
Here a great craft link
http://familycrafts.about.com/
On the left, in red there are more clickable links that show crafts appropriate to age, under Topics.
http://familycrafts.about.com/cs/giftgiving/a/120400a.htm shows the most popular and http://familycrafts.about.com/cs/christmascrafts/a/103000a.htm is for Christmas crafts.
The frugal living section offers more ideas
