A really great website for children from 3.5 to 13 is afterschool-care.com
http://www.after-school-care.com/Forum.aspx?Page=1

There are so many holiday ideas you won't believe it. As of now...there are:
46 ideas for December Celebration Days
21 ideas for December activities
52 ideas for winter time activities
22 holiday snack food recipes
43 ideas for kids to make gifts
...as well as 41 gook/gak/play dough recipes---also art, science, games, etc. etc.
I have the numbers in front of me---as I'm sending out a message to school-age care workers to be sure to see all the latest additions in one place! Nice place for all working with children or parents/grandparents! :-)
References :
educator of 20 years, parent of 6, grand-parent of 13 (under 10)

A sugar cone upside down frosted with green frosting and a variety of sprinkles makes a cute decorated tree. We did this last year and it turned out great!
References :
mix green food color into some fluff and use it as glue. create a cherrios tree or wreath and have the kids decorate it with gum drops and pieces of candy.

collect pine cones and have the kids decorate them with kids paint, tie a ribbon and stick them to the ceiling for the season.

Glue cotton balls as snow men and snow balls ..

Use strips of paper dipped in liquid starch to create a piniata. Place the wet strips on the blown up balloon, let them dry and pop the balloon. Decorate the ball like the planet earth.

Remember, not all children celebrate the same holiday.
Quanza, Chaunika, Christmas, Yule .. So call a wreath a "winter circle of friendship" and make little friendship trees with the cheerios

I recently heard of a good idea. Quick and easy.
Each child should bring in a favorite family photo standard size.
You will need Circular, Wooden Curtain Rings.
Small items and paint to decorate the rings.
After decorating the rings frame the photo with the ring and paste it down. Waaalllllaaaaa! instant Christmas Ornament.

Also, don't listen to deltafox... up there. As a Mother or client of the public school system you can say whatever you want. It is only those employed by the school systems that are forced to be Secular!!!!
References :
A craft idea would be a paper plate with a circle cut out of the center to make a shape like a wreath. Then crumple up pieces of tissue paper in christmas colors and glue them to the paper plate.

Make a snowman/christmas tree out of construction paper.

Decorate Christmas Cookies.
